After years spent trying to start a family together, Giuliana and Bill Rancic‘s dreams finally came true when they welcomed their son Edward Duke in August.

With the couple’s baby boy now 8-months-old, the new mom is in complete baby bliss and can’t get enough of her giggly guy.

Set to celebrate her first official Mother’s Day Sunday, the Fashion Police co-host spoke exclusively to PEOPLE about her weekend plans, carrying on childhood traditions, Duke’s latest milestones and her new partnership with Gyft.

PEOPLE: How do you plan to celebrate your first official Mother’s Day?

Giuliana: I will probably spend the day relaxing at home with Bill and Duke. There’s nowhere else I would rather be. Bill and I have also talked about flying our mothers in for the weekend, too.

My journey to motherhood was not an easy one and I am so excited to be able to finally celebrate it as a mom.

PEOPLE: How was Mother’s Day celebrated while you were growing up? Are you carrying on any traditions?

Giuliana: As a child in Italy and later in America, my mom was always in the kitchen. On Mother’s Day, we would give her a break from the kitchen and cook a big Italian meal of different pastas and enjoy it together as a family at home. We will definitely carry on the tradition of togetherness at home.

PEOPLE: Why did you decide to partner with Gyft? How will you use it personally?

Giuliana: The idea behind Gyft is genius. It is the perfect way to organize and manage your gift cards, as well as send gift cards to family and friends at a moments notice.

The moment I downloaded the Gyft app, my life became easier. It took away all of the added clutter in my wallet and purse and has been a great resource for gift card gifting in a snap!

PEOPLE: What are Duke’s latest milestones?

Giuliana: His second baby tooth came in recently and it’s so cute when he smiles! He is such a happy baby and Bill and I can’t wait to see him with a mouthful of teeth.

PEOPLE: What’s your favorite part of his personality?

Giuliana: His personality is really starting to show. He’s constantly smiling and laughing and he is quite the flirt. He loves it when I invite my girlfriends over!

PEOPLE: Tell us the funniest thing he’s done lately.

Giuliana: Duke laughs all the time and it cracks us up because it is such a funny sound. It’s kind of cartoonish in a way. Paired with his bright eyes and big smile, it’s just so cute we can’t help but laugh with him!

Giuliana Rancic Shows Off Her New ‘Duke’ Cuff

You already know you’re super mom, but isn’t it time you had a cuff (à la Wonder Woman) that shows the world the source of your special powers — your super kid, of course.

Giuliana Rancic‘s new silver bracelet ($115), which she debuted on Instagram Tuesday, definitely fits the bill. Specially created by Rustic Cuff, it’s emblazoned with 13-month-old son Duke‘s name.

But this isn’t the only piece from the collection the Giuliana & Bill star, 39, owns.  She has several of their cool designs including a gold monogrammed version and one made of leather.

The creative brain behind Rustic Cuff — which also counts Britney Spears and Elisabeth Hasselbeck as fans — is Oklahoma-based mom-of-two Jill Donovan, who uses everything from metal to lucite to make her jewelry. You can see more of the line at rusticcuff.com.

As full-time working parents, Giuliana and Bill Rancic have their hands full juggling hosting gigs, speaking engagements and filming for their reality show, Giuliana & Bill.

But one little man in their lives gets first priority: son Edward Duke, 19 months.

“We are busier than ever,” Giuliana, 39, tells PEOPLE. “But it makes it easier to love what I do. I don’t see it as a job. If I had to leave him every day and go somewhere I wasn’t happy, I’d probably be a stay-at-home mom.”

She adds, “We’re just trying to figure out what the next couple of years looks like and make sure Duke has everything he could possibly need.”

And for now, that’s the freedom to be an active toddler. Says Bill, 42, who hosts Food Network’s new reality competition Kitchen Casino, “Duke is all boy! He’ll play in the backyard and get muddy. And he has an appetite like a horse. He eats kale and crazy stuff — just scarfs it down.”

He’s a charmer too. “He loves to sit and observe and smile at everyone,” says Giuliana. “He’s a huge flirt!”

And the couple, married since 2007, hope to expand their family soon. On the show’s Tuesday premiere, the Rancic’s surrogate Delphine revealed that she would be willing to carry a second child for the pair. “It’s a roller-coaster of a season,” Giuliana promises. “There are a lot of ups and downs.”

But as far as that so-called seven-year itch? No sign of it.

“We know each other pretty darn well, especially when [a kid] is added to the mix,” says Giuliana. “There’s a lot of stress and a tendency for it not to be like the first year or second year. But no seven-year itch.”

She jokes, “If there were one, Bill would itch it for me! We’re still so in love.”

Giuliana & Bill airs Tuesdays on E! Kitchen Casino premieres April 7 on The Food Network.

Happy birthday, Duke!

Proud parents Bill and Giuliana Rancic celebrated their son’s second birthday with an indoor party at Sky Zone trampoline park in Torrance, California.

And the birthday boy spent the afternoon jumping for joy.

“Duke had a blast at Sky Zone! He is such a ball of energy and wanted everyone to jump with him on the trampolines,” Giuliana tells PEOPLE exclusively.

The reality couple chose a Sesame Street theme for the celebration, which included fruit tables featuring favorites Elmo and Cookie Monster, and decadent cake pops from Sweet and Saucy for dessert.

Later, Duke, who wore Polarn O. Pyret‘s Block Stripe Polo, blew out the candles on his two-tiered, colorful cake — adorned with all of the classic characters. Oscar and Big Bird were used as decoration on the platter, while Elmo and Cookie Monster served as cake toppers.

After jumping on the trampolines with their toddler, Bill and Giuliana had one last big — and exciting! — surprise for the mini man of the hour: Elmo!

The tot’s furry friend made an appearance at the party and after getting big smiles from Duke, Elmo took turns dancing with the birthday boy and his mama.

“Duke and his friends were dancing and singing along with the Elmo, getting their favorite balloon animals made and eating some yummy treats!” Giuliana shares.

Before heading home, guests were gifted goodie bags with treats provided by Babiators, Snapper Rock, Funley’s Delicious Super Crackers, Penny Scallan water bottles and Stuck on You labels.

But Giuliana’s relationship with the locale goes beyond the birthday party.

The E! host is partnering with Sky Zone during the month of October by stocking pink socks at the company’s locations. A percentage of the proceeds will be donated to Giuliana’s foundation, which works to benefit cancer research and grant wishes to cancer patients.

“Each pink SkySock donation is making a difference in someone’s life right now, and I’m so thankful to all of the Sky Zone jumpers that contributed to the cause,” Giuliana, a breast cancer survivor, says.

“Giving back for breast cancer awareness month is very important to me, and I can’t think of a better way to have done so this year.”

Bill Rancic: My Son Duke Is the ‘Happiest Kid I’ve Ever Met’

Bill Rancic and Duke

Bill Rancic is one proud papa!

At just 2½ years old, his son Duke is already hitting some big milestones: The tyke speaks not just one, but three different languages.

“He can count to 10 in Spanish, which is pretty awesome,” the reality star tells PEOPLE of his son with Giuliana Rancic.

“And Giuliana’s teaching him Italian,” he adds. “It’s great! He’s a sponge.”

Of course, the 43-year-old dad is especially excited to see his son getting into sports. “We go to the park in the afternoon,” he shares. “I’ve got a little tee-ball set up and I’m teaching him to hit the ball. We’re having a lot of fun together.”

Duke can be a pretty devious kid, however. “He’ll want to do something, but he’ll check us out before,” Rancic explains. “He had a crayon and he wanted to draw on the wall, but he was very cautious and he would drop his hand down to make it look like he was drawing on the wall by accident, but it was very calculated.”

He continues, “I said to him, ‘I know what you’re doing!’ He’s a good kid. He’s always laughing. Just the happiest kid I’ve ever met.”

In the midst of it all, the entrepreneur still finds time for plenty of business pursuits. He’s partnered with VeriSign to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the first “.com” and is one of five judges for the company’s #InternetOfficial contest, which honors the web’s best domain names.

“It’s amazing,” he says of the anniversary. “I don’t think anyone had any idea what was about to unfold … It’s changed the world, it’s made commerce a lot easier and it’s leveled the playing field for people with a dream.”

The struggle of taking pictures of toddlers is real — just ask Giuliana Rancic!

On Wednesday, the E! News host took to Instagram to share a snapshot of her on-the-go 2½-year-old son Duke.

“Even when he won’t look up to say cheese, he’s still darn cute!” the proud mama captioned the candid photo.

As if his sweet smile and tousled tresses aren’t adorable enough, Duke took it to new levels with his colorful patterned pajamas in Sunset Geo Lattice ($31.50) from Kickee Pants.

But Rancic isn’t the only fan of the green collection, which is crafted from eco-friendly products like bamboo. New mom Stacy Keibler has also shared her love of the line on Twitter.

And who can forget that cute photo of cousins North West and Mason and Penelope Disick posing on the sofa in their coordinating Kickee Pants ensembles.

Giuliana Rancic Fertility Struggle: We Lost Our Last Embryo

Giuliana Rancic finally speaks out about her Fashion Police controversy, the health problems she’s kept secret, and why she’s become shockingly thin. Subscribe now for instant access to the exclusive interview, only in PEOPLE.

Her struggle with infertility was chronicled on Giuliana Rancic‘s reality show, and now, the E! News host is sharing another devastating personal blow.

Giuliana and her husband Bill, who welcomed son Duke via surrogate in 2012, learned on New Year’s Eve that their surrogate — who was pregnant with their third and last remaining embryo — had miscarried.

“It was painful,” Giuliana, 40, tells PEOPLE. “We were so optimistic with this last embryo. We thought, ‘This is definitely going to work. This is our last shot.’ ”

After Duke, now 2½, was born, the Rancics had three remaining embryos. Two were successfully implanted in their surrogate in 2014; she miscarried weeks later. The latest loss, however, “was the toughest blow,” Giuliana says. “It was a really hard time.”

Getting pregnant herself would be a risk for the reality star, who is taking cancer-suppressing medication following her 2011 breast cancer diagnosis (and subsequent double mastectomy), but Giuliana remains hopeful about growing her family.

“We’re open to everything,” says the E! personality, whose memoir, Going Off Script, hits shelves April 7. “I think adoption is a beautiful gift you’re giving each other. And it’s funny, I’m even more open to [adoption] than I was before. Because I think to myself, ‘I love Duke so much, if I couldn’t take care of him, I hope there would be someone else who would love him.’ ”

Giuliana Rancic on Having a Second Child: ‘The Dream Is Definitely Still Alive’

Giuliana Rancic wants second baby

Giuliana and Bill Rancic aren’t actively trying for another baby, but the former E! News anchor admits they’re open to expanding their family.

“We would love to have another child,” she tells PEOPLE. “It’s always a conversation we have and it’s something we definitely would love to do. If God blesses us with a child, it’d be incredible.”

But while the couple would “love” to give their son, 3-year-old Edward Duke, a sibling, Giuliana says they have plenty to keep them busy for now.

“There’s really nothing in the works right now to be quite honest,” she shares. “I think there’s been a lot on our plate lately with moving to Chicago and Duke starting school there.”

Giuliana and Bill have been open with their fertility issues on their reality show Giuliana and Bill and she has been public with her battle against breast cancer in 2011.

After welcoming Duke via surrogate in 2012, Giuliana’s final embryos were miscarried in 2014.

Now the 41-year-old says she is focused on her one blessing.

“I always want to make sure I’m super present with Duke — he’s always my priority because he’s my son and we fought really hard for him, obviously,” Giuliana explains.

“We were so lucky to have Duke and he keeps us really busy. He’s great and thriving and an amazing little boy, but we would love to expand our family. We always wanted to and that dream is definitely still alive.”

Giuliana is promoting breast cancer awareness throughout October with P.F. Changs and the American Cancer Society‘s #PFChangsPink Breast Cancer Awareness campaign.

“If you find breast cancer early, you have over a 90 percent chance survival rate, which is incredible, but the key is you have to find it early,” she explains. “We can’t stress enough — everyone can’t stress enough — you have to do the monthly self exams when you’re in the shower.”

The first day of school was tough for dad Bill Rancic.

“He didn’t want to go!” the reality star tells PEOPLE of Duke, his 3-year-old son with Giuliana Rancic.

But nearly a month later, the tyke is finally adjusting.

“He’s hanging in there now,” Bill says. “Still having the lip out a little bit. But he’s made a lot of friends.”

It’s welcome news for the family, who moved to Chicago full-time earlier this year so that Duke could go to school there. “We love it,” says Bill. “Our son loves city living. This is a great central hub for us.”

And will Duke be getting a sibling anytime soon? “We’ll see,” says Bill. “I’d love for him to have a brother or sister.”

Instagram Photo

To celebrate the move, Bill is running the Bank of America Chicago Marathon on Sunday. Giuliana will join him part of the way and he also hopes to see Duke cheering for him along the famed route. “I’m excited to see them,” he shares.

He adds of the race, which he’s been training diligently for with a trainer from Nike: “It’s something special.”

He previously ran the race in 2001 and is looking forward to crossing the finish line again.

“When you cross that finish line, there’s nothing like it,” he says. “You have tears in your eyes.”

Giuliana Rancic Says Son Duke Thinks She Works in the TV: ‘It’s the Cutest Thing’

Giuliana Rancic has quite the role to play aside from Fashion Police panelist: mom to 3½-year-old son Duke.

“We just got him a bike recently, with training wheels, and he loves it. He’s been zooming around the neighborhood on the bike,” Rancic, 41, tells PEOPLE exclusively.

Adds the television personality and wife to entrepreneur Bill Rancic, 45, “We’re in Chicago now and we have beautiful parks around us. So he’ll meet up with his friends and we’ll have mommy play dates with our kids. They all ride around on their new bikes and play at the park.”

The proud mama adds that Duke loves playing baseball, but that he’s just as creative as he is sporty — particularly in the musical sense.

“I was just wheeling him around downtown Chicago in a wagon, and he just sings the entire time,” Rancic, who’s teamed up with Cottonelle for their Go Commando project, tells PEOPLE. “He loves music and loves singing. ‘Three Little Birds’ by Bob Marley is his favorite song and he just sings it all day long.”

Instagram Photo

And when it comes to what Mom does for a living, Duke is at an age where he’s starting to get it … sort of.

“When he sees me on TV, he knows it’s Mommy. And he points, and he asks Daddy, ‘When’s Mommy coming home from the TV?’ ” the former E! News co-anchor shares. “So it’s the cutest thing because he thinks I’m in the TV, and that I’m gonna come home from the TV.

“Kids at this age just want to know when Mommy and Daddy aren’t around, where they are. ‘Are they at work? Are they in New York? Where are they?’ ” she continues. “He’s always asking where we are when we’re not around.”

Instagram Photo

Rancic — who welcomed Duke with the help of a surrogate, and has been open in the past about her struggles with infertility, miscarriage and breast cancer — couldn’t be happier with their move to Chicago and says she’s committed to spending as much time with her son as she possibly can.

“The nice thing is we’ve really been able to spend a lot of time together as a family since moving to Chicago and really trying to find a better balance with work and family,” she explains. “It’s been wonderful.”

Giuliana Rancic Isn't Wearing Her Wedding Ring at the Oscars - But It's Not What You Think!

One accessory was missing from Giuliana Rancic’s 2018 Oscars look: her wedding rings. The TV personality did not wearing her engagement ring or wedding band while covering the red carpet at the 2018 Academy Awards. But there’s a reason for her missing bling.

The TV personality is still very much married to husband Bill Rancic. The choice not to wear her 4-carat cushion cut engagement diamond nor her micropave wedding band was a purposeful one all in the name of fashion.

“Giuliana is wearing a 10-carat cushion cut exceptional diamond ring by Forevermark,” the jewelry brand tells PEOPLE in a statement about the sparkler on Rancic’s left-hand middle finger.

In fact, because it’s so big, her wedding ring was not included as part of her Oscars look. It would not fit with the giant Forevermark ring already accessorized on the middle finger.

Be sure to check out PEOPLE’s full Academy Awards coverage to get the latest news on Hollywood’s big night.

And it’s not the first time Rancic has opted not to wear her rings from husband Bill.

At last year’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, she didn’t wear either of her rings, instead deciding to wear a separate ring on her middle ring.

Looking for more style content? Click here to subscribe to the PeopleStyle Newsletter for amazing shopping discounts, can’t-live-without beauty products and more.

Also at this year’s Golden Globe Awards, she didn’t wear her wedding ring when she wore a middle finger ring. However, she had it on for the Grammys and was not wearing a middle finger ring.

The 90th Oscars will be held on Sunday, March 4, 2018, at the Dolby Theatre at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood, and will be broadcast live on the ABC Television Network at 8 p.m. ET/5 p.m. PT.

Giuliana and Bill Rancic Celebrate Easter on the Slopes After Listing Chicago Home for $6.8M

Giuliana and Bill Rancic celebrated Easter on the slopes with their own little snow bunny, son Duke, on Sunday.

The former E! News anchor and her entrepreneur husband ventured to Big Sky, Montana, for the holiday for some family time with 5-year-old Duke while skiing over the weekend.

“Happy Easter from our family to yours 🐣🐰🐥🐇” Giuliana, 43, captioned a photo shared to Instagram of the smiling family standing at the bottom of a ski run.

In the snap, Duke is flanked by his parents, who wear snow gear. Giuliana sports a while puffer jacket with black pants and boots, which she accessorizes with her own ice — her gorgeous wedding ring. Bill, 46, sports all-black, including a beanie, while son Duke — who is on skis — wears a red, grey and black outfit, lime green snow gloves, a grey helmet and blue snow goggles.

The father of one also shared the same photo on his Instagram, which he captioned: “Happy Easter from the slopes #happyeaster #skiing #family.”

Their vacation comes days after the couple, who wed in 2007, listed their 1866 Chicago, Illinois, brownstone for $6.8 million.

The 8,098 square-foot property underwent a down-to-the-studs renovation two years ago, according to the listing — with Laura Rubin Dresner of Baird & Warner — and now boasts stunning features on all four levels.

One living room shows the couple’s affinity for monograms, with a “B” and a “G” statue proudly displayed on end tables flanking the fireplace.

Duke’s bedroom is a boy’s dream, with bunk beds, plane-patterned wallpaper and lots of room to play. His play space, on the lowest level, has an adorable mini table, an easel, a drum set and doors that no doubt hide more of toys. But he isn’t the only one who gets extra areas either — his parents can also enjoy the rooftop deck that overlooks the city, which is near where Bill grew up.

In August 2015, the family moved full-time from Los Angeles to Chicago. “Up until now, Duke’s been on our schedule,” she told PEOPLE that year. “But he starts school at the end of summer and we want him to have a connection with schoolmates and not be going from city to city.”

“Bill and I both grew up in the suburbs,” she said. “We love that sense of community. And I have loved Chicago ever since we started dating nine years ago.”

Giuliana Rancic Says She & Bill Are 'Better Than Ever'— Why They're Selling Their Chicago Home

Just over 10 years into their marriage, Giuliana and Bill Rancic‘s relationship continues to grow.

“I truly cannot imagine life without Bill,” Giuliana told PEOPLE on Tuesday at Living Beyond Breast Cancer and Genentech’s Not One Type breast cancer awareness pop-up in New York City. “When I look at him I still see that gorgeous, smart, driven man that I fell in love with. I still get butterflies in my stomach thinking about him.”

Though the E! host wasn’t wearing her wedding ring while covering the Oscars red carpet in March (it wasn’t part of her look), she said her marriage is “stronger than ever and better than ever.”

“He’s so much more than my husband,” gushed Giuliana, 43. “Bill’s my absolute best friend in life. He’s my other half. I feel like we’re connected. We just have an incredible respect for each other and love for each other.”

In addition to a mutual respect, the Going Off Script author believes that constantly expressing their love for each other keeps their union solid.

“I love him and I tell him that every day, and he tells me every day, and I think that that’s important,” she said. “No one ever gets tired of being told they’re loved and that they look beautiful or they make someone feel happy. We tell each other that all the time, and I think that’s good for any relationship. You just assume like, oh we’ve been married so long, of course he knows I love him, of course she know she’s beautiful, she’s smart. Once in a while it’s just nice to hear — even more than one in a while.”

The parents to 5-year-old son Duke put their Chicago brownstone up for sale late last month, and while the TV personality and the real estate developer, 46, aren’t certain of their next move, they have no plans of going in separate directions.

Giuliana Rancic Scaled Back Her Career to Focus on Family: 'My Priorities Were Out of Whack'

For Giuliana Rancic, it’s family first.

Appearing on Thursday’s episode of The View, the former E! News anchor opened up about her decision to scale back her work responsibilities to focus on her husband Bill and their 5-year-old son Duke. (She stepped away from her main hosting duties in 2015, though she still co-hosts  Live from the Red Carpet during major awards shows.)

“You know, never an easy decision, right? Especially when you love your career,” she admitted. “But I had to do it. My priorities were a little out of whack for a while there. I was just working so much and if anyone knows my story, we struggled to have a child. We went through infertility, and it was a long process.”

“I made a deal with God that if you bless us one day with a child — I get emotional thinking about it — if you bless us one day with a child, I’m going to be there for him,” she continued. “So I pulled back from the career I love, and it was the best decision I ever made — to just be home and be a mom and not completely give up my career, but just switch things around a little bit. Put the focus on family, have the career still going, handle as much as I can — you know, just shift it a little bit. But make family the priority. That’s the most important thing in the world.”

So does Duke ever watch his Mom on the small screen? According to Giuliana, 43, her husband Bill, 46, always tunes in to watch her red carpet coverage during award shows.

“My husband will actually post little Instagrams of my son watching and it’s really cute,” she said. “And recently at school they went around and were asking the kids about Mommy and Daddy’s jobs and trying to gage if the kids know what their parents do. They got to my son and he goes: ‘My mommy is a singer!’ I was so excited. … I haven’t been working that much, so when we’re at home we’re always singing. I love singing and playing music and I think I’m a really good singer — I’m not. But my son thinks I’m a great singer! So if he thinks I’m a singer, maybe I am one.”

Giuliana Rancic Recalls the Decision to Reveal Her Breast Cancer: 'This Can Happen to Anyone'

When Giuliana Rancic learned in 2011 that she had breast cancer, the diagnosis came as a shock.

“I was 36 years old,” she told PEOPLE on Tuesday at Living Beyond Breast Cancer and Genentech’s Not One Type breast cancer awareness pop-up in New York City. “It really came out of left field.”

And without the proper resources to learn about her form of breast cancer, Rancic felt lost.

“I would walk out of the doctor’s office and I would remember one or two nuggets of information he gave me and I would Google those,” the E! host, now 43, recalled. “And then I would think, ‘She has this, so I’m obviously going to have this surgery and have this medication.’ That’s not necessarily the case, so that’s why you want as much information as you can get.”

Partnering with Not One Type, which aims to help women learn about their specific type of breast cancer, has allowed Rancic to give others in her position more information than she had. “There are just so many factors that go into your treatment and if you could just go into the doctor’s office with your questions ready and do the research with those answers, then you’ll be so much better equipped to move forward and get the treatment that’s right for you,” she said.

The mom to son Duke, 5, celebrated six years cancer free in December, and has fans tell her all the time how her journey encouraged them to get checked. But Rancic wasn’t always certain she wanted to go public with her diagnosis.

“It was hard to come to the decision to share my story,” Rancic admitted. “I held back a couple of months before I decided to come out with it. I honestly didn’t know what to expect. For me though, I decided to share my infertility journey, which was very empowering, so that helped me come to the decision to share my breast cancer story as well. I thought, if this can happen to me, this can happen to anyone. I thought how all these women my age, younger, older, watch me on TV every night and if just one woman goes and does a self check, or gets a mammogram and finds her breast cancer early, wouldn’t that be incredible?”

The TV personality pointed out that breast cancer has a five-year survival rate of 99 percent, but “the key for me is getting out there and encouraging women to find it early,” she said. “More women find their breast cancer themselves than at the doctor or mammogram. I have women all the time who say, ‘I found my breast cancer early because of you and I’m going to be okay.’ And I think, ‘Wow, what a privilege to be able to use my platform to help so many people.’ “

Bill and Giuliana Rancic are stronger than ever.

The pair spoke to PEOPLE at an event Thursday night where Bill worked with Hyatt House and Hyatt Place to honor three business travelers and release the findings of their recent Business Traveler Survey.

The couple dished on their top travel tips – Bill sticks to always bringing carry-on luggage instead of checking a bag while Giuliana confesses that she brings eyeshades and an oversized hoodie to catch some sleep on the plane – and what it is like to be constantly traveling while married. (They’re also parents to 5-year-old son Duke.)

“We do a fair amount of business/pleasure trips. We usually try to find something fun for . Giuliana went to HSN last week for her clothing line and we went to Disney,” Bill told PEOPLE. He  added how lucky they are to work and travel together so much — and when that’s not possible, they have one important rule for staying strong when they are apart.

“When we are not together, we talk a lot. Communication is the biggest key,” Giuliana said. “It eases your mind; you don’t worry as much if you are constantly communicating, so I always know he is safe. Just always staying in touch.”

“It’s good to give the number in your hotel just so people can get in touch if there is an emergency. We also FaceTime a lot, so we are always really communicating,” she added. “Even when we are working and we are away, I’ll FaceTime him with Duke and vice-versa.”

Occasionally being long-distance is nothing new for the couple, though.

“We lived in two different cities when we met, we have been traveling since then. That was 12 years ago ,so we have made it work.” Giuliana said.

And as for those rumors that their relationship was on the rocks when Giuliana didn’t wear her engagement and wedding rings on the Oscars red carpet, the E! host reassured, “Anyone who knows us knows that we are such a solid couple and so in love. For us, we know the truth, and as long as our friends and family know the truth, it’s okay.”

As first-time parents to their son Edward Duke, now 5½, Giuliana and Bill Rancic often struggled to find trustworthy practical advice when it came to their baby.

“We Googled anything and everything, you name it,” Bill tells PEOPLE with a laugh. “But we either didn’t trust it or it wasn’t easy to access. We would go down a dark hole and it created so much anxiety and panic.”

Now, inspired by their own past, the TV host and her entrepreneur husband have launched Pear, an app and online parenting community and resource where families and parents-to-be can seek expert advice, curated articles, tips and humorous videos, as well as connect with other parents.

“It’s a community for parents, by parents,” explains Giuliana, 43.
